Rachael is a small town girl, living in a lonely world. No, she did not take the midnight train, and no, she did not go anywhere. But, however, she never stopped believing. Rachael lives in a little town called Lake Orion, MI, which was intended to be a nice place for a summer cottage. It turned into an ever-growing town with over 15 schools and at least a hundred neighborhoods. Rachael is a junior at Lake Orion High School (home of the dragons, and, well, 2,600 students), and intends on going to Oakland University to be…undecided. She isn’t sure if she wants to be a writer, a therapist, or what. She has a 12-year-old golden retriever named Daisy, who, let’s face it, is just flat-out adorable.
Rachael plays piano, flute, and a bit of guitar, and if anything, she loves to compose her own music. She has an insane obsession with typing, and getting faster and faster at it. In fact, she loves typing so much that she obsessively writes Hunger Games fan fiction. She used to dance – she was in dance class since she was two – but quit when she was thirteen because she decided that writing and music itself was her true passion. She has tried very hard to write novels, but she can never finish anything past the 10th chapter or so. She hopes to get better with practice.
Her best friend, Nick Kim, also helps with her blogging tendencies. They’ve been best friends since eighth grade, where they bonded in their ten-student Spanish class. They’ve been spending hours a day on the phone and hanging out ever since. He owns his own spot here…”Nick’s Corner.” He will talk about life with the craziest girl on the planet, high school stress, and his cat, Kira. Rachael could never live without him and his support.
Also, it’s worth mentioning that Rachael dislikes writing about herself in third-person, because it just further proves the point that she’s insanely apocalyptic.
